I know, I know, I haven't posted for a few days and yes, I haven't reach my goal of having 100 posts. It hasn't reached half of it yet. ANYWAY, again, since I'm in my I-want-to-post-but-I-don't-know-what-to-post mode, I apologize if this post is again, not making any sense at all.

Moving on, recently I spend my time reading fanfictions in the KH section. Usually, I read Romance, Angst, Drama and Humor. And yes, the pairings are yaoi or boy to boy. (I'm weird, I accept.) Of course, having to encounter PERFECT people in fics are sometimes inevitable. Actually, I get VERY uncomfortable when I encounter these characters and sometimes decide to not read that certain fic anymore. These characters are labeled as Mary Sues and Gary Stus (sp?). Who made these names? I don't know.

So, how can we say if these certain character is one of their kind? One word hun, they are PERFECT. Really. Sexy, beautiful, very intelligent, you name it. It also includes the fact that they have a SAD SAD past. Abused or whatever. Here's one part in the fic/satire I'm currently reading that describes/alert people that there is a Mary Sue in your area:

They’re not supposed to be real!” Vexen hissed, sticking close to his comrades.

“But it is. It’s real—it’s…” Lexaeus stammered.

A Mary Sue,” the three of them gasped in horror.

“HEY! I am SO not a Mary Sue!” Sakura-Rose halted her threatening charge and triumphantly righteous speech, placing her hands on her hips in protest. “I have FLAWS! Like my stepdaddy beats me and he’s SOOO MEAN! And I only got second place in my school spelling bee, and my class rank is only 3rd out of 247!”

“What do we do—what do we do?” Xaldin understood something was very wrong the moment he began to panic. “She’s got a Keyblade—she’s going to destroy us!”

-twitch-

Honestly, Mary Sues scare the heck out of me. I mean, c'mon, who wants to read a story wherein your favorite character is paired up with someone who's TOTALLY perfect and yeah...you get the idea. Anyway, based on my observations, some people creates this to fulfill their needs in terms of romance with their favorite characters which is obviously, someone they cannot have.

So yeah, it is really recommended to people/writers to avoid these kind of OCs. OCs meaning your original characters.
